The Central Brooklyn Food Democracy Project (CBFDP) is a partnership between the Central Brooklyn Food Coop, RiseBoro Community Partnership and Black-owned worker cooperatives in the food industry.

Through the formation of business relationships, this project is creating a Black-led, localized food economy in direct response to a pattern and practice of food redlining in Central Brooklyn.

Together, we imagine Central Brooklyn as home to a neighborhood based, Black-led food system that is powered by consumer- and worker-owned cooperative food enterprises, where power and decision-making are shared across buyers, workers, and community-rooted stakeholders.
